Journeyman Construction Incorporated was founded in 1996. Journeyman Construction is an Austin, Texas based company with local regional offices in San Antonio, Dallas, Corpus Christi, and McAllen.
Over the past fifteen years, the company has grown to be the 58th largest construction firm in Texas. Journeyman Construction was named by the "Entrepreneur" magazine as one of the 100 fastest growing construction firms in the U.S. In 2011, Journeyman Construction and its affiliated companies generated $120 million in revenue and is expected to exceed that volume this year.
Journeyman employs 100+ employees company-wide, excluding the hourly personnel employed in the field. All of our salaried employees perform work in Project Management, Field Supervision , Administrative and Accounting areas. Our lead Project Managers and lead Superintendents have a combined experience of over 500 years.
Our project portfolio includes K-12, higher education facilities, retail, office buildings, medical office buildings, multi-family, condominiums municipal, as well as parks & recreation facilities. Journeyman has received numerous awards from the Associated Builders and Contractors Association recognizing the quality of their work.
Journeyman is a financially strong company that can provide payment and performance bonds on single projects up to $60 million dollars with aggregated project coverage up to $180 million dollars. Our payment and performance bonds are underwritten by Liberty Mutual Company, a $28 billion dollar Fortune 500 Surety Company.
Our prioritization of project safety has led to the training and certification of all of our Project Managers and Superintendents under the 30-Hour OSHA Training and Certification program. As a direct result of our OSHA training standard, we have received safety awards from the "Associated Builders and Contractors Association" for the last several years.
Journeyman is a licensed contractor in the state of Texas and has completed projects throughout the state. We also hold licenses and can perform work in California, Mississippi, Florida and Virginia. We are involved at the board level in the Association of Builders and Contractors as well as several other community organizations and charities.
Journeyman has completed a number of LEED certified projects such as the Austin Resource Center for the Homeless (ARCH), Turner Roberts Recreation Center, and Sand Hill Administration Building project. In 2010 we were awarded the Armed Forces Reserve Center in Lufkin, Texas which will be a LEED Silver Certified Building upon completion. Journeyman Construction employs a full-time LEED Project Administrator and has several Project Managers who are LEED AP Certified. In addition to our LEED Certified projects, we have built several Austin Energy Green Buildings rated sustainable projects.
